Troubleshooting · HS290

Connect HS FPV App for Live View
- After pairing, open the phone’s Wi-Fi and connect to HolyStoneFPV-******, then launch HS FPV to see the live feed.
If image/connection is unstable, turn off Bluetooth/Mobile Data/VPN or use Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi on; allow the app’s requested permissions.
The drone’s Wi-Fi has no Internet; when prompted, choose to stay connected.
Pairing, Gyro Calibration & Motor Unlock
- Power on the drone (on a level surface) and the transmitter to auto-pair (LEDs turn steady when paired).
Gyro calibration: push both sticks to the bottom-left; LEDs blink then turn solid when done.
Unlock motors: left stick bottom-right + right stick bottom-left (repeat to lock; only when not flying).
One-Key Takeoff / Landing & Emergency Stop
- Short-press One-Key Takeoff/Landing to auto take off and hover at ~5 ft; short-press again to auto-land.
- Emergency Stop (long-press the same key) immediately stops the props and the drone will fall—use only for emergencies.
After Emergency Stop and landing, place the drone level and push the left stick down once until LEDs go solid before flying again.
Tilt Camera & Photo/Video
- Adjust camera tilt with the dial: range −90° to 0° (down to forward).
- Photo: short-press the photo button (beeps once). Video: long-press to start/stop (long beep at start).
Speed Modes & Headless Mode
- Three speeds: Low / Middle / High. Short-press Speed to cycle; transmitter beeps 1×/2×/3×. (Approx. forward speeds: 6.5 / 9.8 / 13 ft/s.)
- Headless Mode: long-press to enter/exit. While active, “forward” on the right stick follows your facing direction (indicator LEDs flash; TX beeps).
Stunts: Flip / Circle / High-Speed Rotation
- 360° Flip: at ≥ ~10 ft height, press the flip key, then push the right stick toward the desired flip direction (works best with a full battery).
- Circle Fly: long-press circle key to enter/exit; moving the right stick also exits.
- High-Speed Rotation: short-press spin key to enter; press again or move the right stick to exit.
Charging & Transmitter Batteries
- Charge the flight battery with the included USB cable (5 V/2 A). Red light on during charge, off when full; typical charging time about 90 min.
Let the battery cool to room temperature before charging; use the original cable.
- Transmitter uses 3 × AAA (not included). Replace when TX LEDs flash slowly; don’t mix old/new or different types.
